Environmental Expressionism

A term used by some artists to indicate a link to the environment and expressionistic techniques…

Oh come on, you let me know (in the comments section) if this is a really valid art “ism” or merely a chance to “cash in” some how on a term or two…

Hey I am one, but I figure so many artists are… Fred Williams… how could he not be?

I figure there is some discussion to happen here… Check their site, their info and ideas and comment away.

I think ‘Environmental Expressionists’ have existed since the beginning of mankind. Look at the cave paintings for example…. Expressive work directly influenced by the artists ‘environment’. However, I’m not aware that it has been phrased as such and publicly stated as an ‘ism’. The ‘ism’ provides a public focus and maybe a more direct focus on the process itself? I can imagine that this will stimulate collective creativity, collective consciousness and in doing so, this movement could manifest into meaningful and powerful messages that in turn will influence our environment. Congratulations Peter Biram!
